Hi, I'm Jen Hachiya (pronounced huh-TCHEE-yuh), and I help organisations better understand how people think, feel and behave.
I was born in France, raised across North America and Europe. This means that I’ve met lots of people from different backgrounds and cultures. It also means I’ve learned from a young age that community is everything. It’s what makes us, human beings, not lose our sense of direction (and our minds!)
My background combines behavioural science, psychology, digital communication and mixed-method research. I specialise in understanding human behaviour and translating research into practical insights that improve digital experiences, communication and community engagement. Basically: I specialise in understanding human behaviour and using research to improve digital experiences, strengthen communities, and communicate more effectively.
Over the past decade I've worked across academia, industry and independent research, exploring how technology shapes behaviour, trust, wellbeing and belonging. Whether I'm studying online communities, digital health or media psychology, my goal is the same: to help build technology that works with human behaviour instead of against it.
My work spans academia, industry, and independent research, with a particular interest in projects at the intersection of behavioural science, technology, and human-centred design.
